I have mounted my 1966 E-Type on a rotisserie which makes it much easier to work on; well that is the plan. My friend Bill Edwards, who has been restoring Porsche 356’s for a very long time, is giving me a hand with body work and paint. Notice the sunroof on the car. (Well where the sunroof goes.) As near as I can tell it is sort of factory installed item but that is a gray area. Best I have found out is the factory did not install sunroofs but that didn’t mean you couldn’t order one with a sunroof; Webasto installed the sunroofs for the factory. I have the heritage certificate on the car but no mention of a sunroof on that document; wish it said sunroof but it doesn’t. And it is a Webasto sunroof. Wonder how it would be scored in a concours with that sunroof?

I am also fortunate to have Mr.Barry Ratchford, who lives very near me, is giving me guidance and support. He is doing a 63 E-Type which is also sitting on a spit and we help each other. He can come over and see how floor panels etc are installed and we lend each other tools and advice as we go. How good the advice is that I give? Well I hope it is good. Pete Day introduced us; he has his shop at the same place as Barry’s. It’s a wonderland of Jaguar E types! If I ever do my 1970 Porsche 911S it sure would be nice to have someone else working on the same car. What a great opportunity we have with our Jags.
